Indications:
Therapy of acute myocardial infarction and cardiac arrhythmias.
Treatment of hemodynamically stable patients with threats of infarction or established acute myocardial infarction, to limit the extent of the infarction and reduce post-infarction mortality.
To reduce the number of non-fatal infarcts and reinfarction, and in the prevention of ventricular arrhythmias prior to infarction.
Posology:
Arrhythmias: Initial 2.5mg (5mL) IV in 2.5 min (1mg / min).
The dose can be repeated at 5 min intervals until the desired response is obtained or the max dose is reached. of 10mg. By IV infusion 0.15 mg / kg, over 20 min.
After the initial treatment with Blokium, you can follow a maintenance therapy with 50 or 100 mg PO (1 tablet / day) Acute myocardial infarction: In patients in whom an IV beta-blocker treatment is indicated and within 12 hours of the chest pain onset, you will be given 5-10 mg slow IV immediately (1 mg / min) followed by 50 mg in tablets 15 min later.
Continue PO 50mg 12 after the IV dose and then 100mg PO after another 12 h; this will be the daily dose. If bradycardia and / or hypotension require treatment or any other undesired effects related to atenolol occur, therapy will be discontinued.
